Sometimes I make mistakes! This listing is for my cute kids organic cotton aprons that didn't quite make the grade. So these all have imperfections - smudges, misprints, colours I wasn't happy with, and I'm selling them at a knocked down price (usually 30 to 50% off). Click the size you want in the drop down menu and a photo will come up showing the blemish.

Squirrel apron - see the second photo for the misprint of red/brown in the oak leaves.

A woodland themed child's apron in natural white organic cotton twill with a red squirrel, oak leaves and acorns. This would make a great gift for a child who's good at saving for the future, or who you want to encourage to do so! Hand printed and hand made in Wales. It has a pocket approx 16 x 25cms placed off centre (for your acorns of course :-) Perfect for messy play.

Red squirrels live in woodland and are very shy. They spend much of their time high up in trees where they will make a drey (nest) from twigs, creating a domed structure which they line with moss and leaves. Baby squirrels are called kittens. At about 8 weeks they will start to forage for their own food. They eat mainly nuts and seeds and will hide excess food under the ground or in nooks in trees. They are very good at hiding things but sometimes can’t find them again later! They don’t hibernate in winter, but in autumn they spend time eating and collecting food for the colder months when they will be less active.
Oak trees have been living on earth for about 65 million years (that’s way longer than us humans). An oak can live for a thousand years, and provide a whole ecosystem for many different creatures like squirrels, mice, birds and insects. They are considered old when they get to about 700. Usually oak trees start to produce acorns when they reach 50 years of age. Each acorn contains only one seed enclosed in a tough shell and a tree can produce 10,000 of them in a year!
"Great oaks from little acorns grow" (14th century proverb)

This has been designed and hand printed by me in my workshop in West Wales. Ethically produced, from cotton manufacture to finished product, printed with environmentally friendly inks and completely machine washable. I mix the inks in-house and hand pull each print, so slight variations are possible and are a sign of hand-craftsmanship.The print has a smooth finish on the fabric making it super comfortable and soft to touch. The design is equally suitable for boys and girls and so can be passed on when it has been outgrown.

As well as making lovely and useful things for everyday lives PearPrint aims to inspire children and adults alike to marvel at the natural world close to us and cherish it so that future generations can also enjoy it.

One size, to fit children roughly 3 to 7 years old.

Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to PearPrint!

I create all of the print designs for the garments and bags in my shop and hand print them myself using a screen printing method. I use environmentally friendly inks and natural materials which are safe and gentle on children's skin. The prints are fixed with heat and are machine washable, care instructions will accompany each item. The items are all ethically produced, from cotton manufacture to finished product, and most are organic.

I mix the inks in-house and hand pull each print, so slight variations are possible and are a sign of hand-craftsmanship.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Items will come with a PearPrint swing tag label and wrapped in tissue paper. They will then be boxed in a mailing box and wrapped in brown paper. I try to keep all my packaging easily recyclable.

If you would like me to send it directly to a gift recipient I can gift wrap and omit the sales receipt (and make sure there are no prices on the label). Just message me when you make your order.

Care instructions

I recommend turning the garment inside out and machine washing on a cool cycle, 30 or 40 degrees C, but of course you can hand wash if you want to.

The inks that I use for screen printing are translucent and are absorbed into the fabric, leaving a soft finish and not a raised plasticky one. Any residue left from the printing process will wash out in the first wash or two making the finish even softer. No colour will be transferred from the print to anything else.

The dark coloured bags with sewn on pockets I recommend spot cleaning with a sponge.

Care instructions will come with the item on it’s PearPrint swing tag.

I hope that you are thrilled with your purchase but should there be any problem please contact me immediately.
If you have simply changed your mind you can return it to me for a refund within 14 days of receiving it. The item must be in it's original condition and with the label. I am also happy to exchange items. Unfortunately I am not able to refund postage.
